Default Problems with send.vodafone.net

Using the document "How to set up multiple Microsoft Outlook profiles" in this thread we covered how you need to change the outgoing mail server address when using a Vodafone 3G data card.

In rare ocassions you will note that this doesn't always work, and in these instances you should follow the guidelines below:

If users are experiencing problems with sending e-mails using “send.vodafone.net”, please try the following:

1. On Outlook:

Tools - email accounts - view/change existing email accounts - highlight account and select change - select more settings - under the general or advanced tab.

·Change the SMTP to 212.183.156.230
·Change the time-out time to Maximum.

2. Flush DNS - this will clear the cache or the history

Disconnect any open network connection.
Start - Run - Type cmd and hit return
Type ipconfig /flushdns and hit return

Retry the connection

Ive tried what is suggested above but its still not working.
I was GMAIL SMTP but it stopped working a few days ago.
Its so silly. Why stop other SMTPs from working. Ive been using Gmail for a couple of years now.
A friend advised me to use send.vodafone.net, but am having no luck with it.

Gmail uses a SSL to send and receive.
Have you disbaled this in your outgoing server settings?
The outgoing port should be 25, not 465.
