Just won't install

I've been trying to get my modem working for a couple of days now and it just won't install itself - it keeps getting caught in a loop - has anyone come across this?

Not an unusual problem - sometimes the auto installer trips over itself. There are ways to get this component running, but they can take a while and if you don't mind running the full version of the software on your PC then it's a quicker fix to just take that route. You should have a CD in the box with your modem, the software is on that for XP and Vista.
