Default Activesync for Vista

I've just moved from XP to Vista and can't install the Activesync disc that came in the box with my XDA Mini. Can someone help?

Firstly, my apologies that you've had to move to Vista.....I hope Microsoft's latest and greatest OS proves more successful for you than it did for me (and everyone I know)!

You're ActiveSync disc won't install because ActiveSync doesn't run on Windows Vista - you now have the privilage of using Windows Mobile Device Center. Details and a download link are here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...icecenter.mspx

It's backwards compatible with Windows Mobile 5 (which is what will be running on you XDA Mini) so you have no concerns there.

Ha, thanks for the link - just what I needed. Yeah, still a bit unsure about Vista. Looks lovely but I already have a few things it doesn't work with that XP did.

I should think it will be better once Service Pack 1 comes out. I've tried moving to Vista a couple of times in the last year and on each ocassion had to revert to XP due to application stability.

I was expecting us to get loads of issues with our Vodafone 3G data card customers actually but it hasn't worked out to be too bad. We get the odd driver issue and the famous Windows User Access Control gets in the way now and then, but apart from that they seem stable which is welcome. BlackBerry Desktop Manager has had a couple of gripes too, and you normally need to run the installer as an administrator even if your user account has admin rights, but apart from that it's not been too much of a support headache. I'm just moaning from a personal perspective!
