Hi HotmailBB

Its been a while since I had anyone ask this, but the plain answer would be NO.
Since Hotmails removal of POP3/IMAP a few years ago, no mail client can connect to it apart from Outlook using HTTP.

There are other POP3 forwarders out there like IZYMail which another of my colleagues used for about a month, but then he was prompted to purchase a license or pay a subscription for the service and he opted out.

Hope this helps

I know, it is painful. The old Hotmail Plus sytem used to help us out with this one, but no more.

You can see why they want to prevent it because if you're not visiting their webmail site, then you're not seeing all their sponsors and advertisers banners which is a big revenue generator, but the flip side is that the likes of Yahoo! and GMail don't have a problem with POP access or mail forwarding rules, so why should the (significantly larger) Microsoft. Greed? I'll let you make your own assumption.
