Default Multiple devices

Can anyone tell me if, with Exchange Direct Push, it's possible to have multiple Windows Mobile devices set up to connect to a single mailbox? We have several users in our office who share a mailbox and I'd like for them to be able to have their own devices, all synchronised wirelessly to the mailbox.

Cheers

Hi

Yes you can do this. Each device basically creates a VPN session to the Exchange server, so you can use multiple devices. As each device sends a heartbeat request to the Exchange server which it must process, one would assume that too many requests may prove problematic if you had a lot of devices connecting to one mailbox, but MS have never documented thresholds for this. I've tested 5 devices on a single mailbox myself and had no problems at all.

And when you had all these devices running did they all wirelessly synchronise between each other and the mailbox, as this is my main worry?

Yes they were all fine. When I had several running I was trying to trip it up but I didn't catch it out once - the latest change always take precedence, regardless of where it was made, and populates successfully to all devices. Of course, because of the design of Direct Push, the changes made are never as instantaneous as one would expect using BlackBerry Enterprise Server so you do have to wait for heartbeat responces from the Exchange server, etc, but in answer to your question you should be fine.
